My printer stopped scanning yesterday, and I have since spent 2 hours reading support boards to attempt to resolve.

Symptoms: When I try and scan, an error message says "scanning is currently unavailable".  I can print from macbook and phone, but not scan from HP Smart. In HP Smart the printer status is showing as "unknown".  I have run a diagnose fix report which states "printer offline issue is not fixed". I have run a wireless diagnostic and the wireless diagnostics all pass, with excellent signal strength.

I have taken the following actions: I have deleted and reinstalled HP Smart (multiple times).  I have restarted the printer (multiple times) I have removed printer from apple menu (multiple times)  I have combined all those things together (deleted HP smart, uninstalled printer on HP smart and Mac) which resulted in drivers being auto updated).  I have reset the wireless settings and reconnected to wireless network.  I have restarted macbook (multiple times).

I have contacted support, but there is no way to contact HP in the UK - I wonder if anyone can help me to think of anything else I can do to resolve this!
