HP ENVY Photo 7130
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Up to now the HP Smart app has been working fine but today when I opened it I first got the message of did I want the app to change the settings on the computer so I said yes. However when it opened it wouldn't connect with the printer so I attempted to search for a new printer but it said it couldn't detect any printers. I did the usual tactics of switching off the printer (even at the power plug) and rebooting the computer but still nothing.

Then I deleted the HP Smart app and reinstalled it directly from the Microsoft store. This then got the printer working but then another problem as it now reports "Printer status unknown..."  and despite more switching the printer off and on plus rebooting the computer it has failed to rectify it. Is this yet another update from HP that's messed everything up?

I did a Troubleshooting under Windows 10 and it came up with the following;

Issues found

Problem with printer - Detected

Potential issues that were checked

Printer paper is low or empty -  Issue not present

Printer toner is low or empty -  Issue not present

Printer has a paper jam -  Issue not present

Printer driver requires update -  Issue not present

Plug and Play printer HP65B751 (HP ENVY Photo 7100 series) has encountered a driver problem -  Issue not present

Printer is turned off - Issue not present

A print job in the print queue is preventing other print jobs from printing - Issue not present

The Print Spooler service is experiencing problems - Issue not present

Print spooler service isn't running - Issue not present

Print Spooler service isn’t starting automatically - Issue not present
HP65B751 (HP ENVY Photo 7100 series) is not the default printer - Issue not present
 
It obviously detected a problem but hasn't been able to identify it as detailed above. Is there a fix to get the printer status to respond to the HP Smart app?
