Laserjet 506
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I was trying to install a laserjet printer at work today. We entered a name and it's set to DHCP. We set it up in our Deployment Room and brought it to another part of the rather large building and couldn't get the computer to find it to install it.

The printer display shows an ip address but when I tried nslookup or ping it from the PC it shows a different ip address. Is this because it's a different subnet at that part of the building? Is there a fix, like getting it to take a new ip address?

It does come up in a web browser when I enter the printer name or the ip address that's shown on the printer's display so I wasn't quite sure what's going on.
