I noticed that each time I had to restart the computer, I was shown a very small box that resembled a computer screen, and I would get a message that it was preventing a restart. For the first time today, it was named for me! It was Program Manager! I looked it up, and it was something used back in Windows 7 days. This computer came with 8.1, but it could have been updated as, unknown to me, the computer had reached the End Of Life stage when I bought it.
I had always updated to the newer Windows 10, depending on Windows to delete the old version-14 hays is what they say is the time they leave the old program on your computer, but I had most if not all the installs. After deleting them with Disk Cleanup, that is when it got named for me. But now I have another problem.
The pages load so slow, that I get Run, and the programs from HP for this computer is nearly installed before the next page loads! Sometimes I click the Refresh, and set and click on the white, blank page until it finally loads! So, I don't know if it's Norton Core-if it was my Wife should have been squealing about her iPhone or iPad has it is installed on each, or where I finally deleted about 15 Gig or more of Windows Old! I must tell it all or none at all.
I updated my security to Norton Core and had not been feeling up to being on the computer for a few days ( I am disabled), so the problem is either Norton or some old program that managed to live through several Windows 10 upgrades, including the FIRST, and is showing up now, or something from HP in Software and Drivers!
I should have deleted the Windows, as they came and went, but there were so many partitions I knew nothing about, I dreaded doing an Advanced install from a DVD, but I finally did. Now, I have no idea what is dragging the computer down!
