Adobe has permanently disabled the Flash Player as of 12-Jan-2021, and as the HP Solution center software is based on Flash, it may not work as expected.

I have to add my voice of displeasure here, because I've been facing this same issue with my DeskJet F4580, which may not be a new product, but is still in perfect working condition physically. The statement above is accurate, but let's add some context to it, shall we? Because this is not a sudden new thing as some might interpret it based on this post alone. Adobe announced the end of life of Flash in July 2017. Being very generous and knocking those months of 2017 off, that's still three years to prepare and mitigate. And yet, the HP Solution center doesn't seem to have been touched at all - not only in those three years, but going by my own printer's driver, since July 2015. It's true  that some apps have been added to the Microsoft Store in the meantime, half-baked as they are with many features and options missing compared to Solution Center's - but what am I to do when, then, those don't support my device (which, for some reason, neither HP Smart, nor HP Scan and Capture seems to)? Please tell me that. Otherwise, congrats on making a paperweight out of my perfectly working printer, HP, definitely not going to buy any of your products again. This is utterly and absolutely unacceptable and inexcusable.

The real kicker? If you just manually set your computer's date back to before 2020 Dec 31 - HP Solution Center is working perfectly. For now, anyway, until Microsoft actually removes all traces of the built-in Flash Player from Windows, I suppose.
