HP Recommended

I agree with all the remarks about the inadequacies of the HP support system and its inability to provide a reasonable fix for a simple problem that should have been anticipated: because the solution centre is based on flash player and Adobe had given plenty of notice that it would no longer be supported, HP should have anticipated this and provided an update that works. Instead they have provided automated assistance that pushes people around in circles. I started at 0930 GMT with a simple task to scan 2 pages and keep them. The printer was working but I could not add pages via the solution centre. I went to an online meeting  from 1000 to 1130 and resumed trying to find a solution. My efforts have included repeatedly updating, using HP support, conversing with a virtual agent, searching the net for better solutions. The solution centre icon and software disappeared entirely; when everything was reinstalled again, it appeared again and produced the same flash message. I completed my task using Acrobat pro and Windows 10 features then downloaded HP Scan and Capture, which can add pages more conveniently, but not as good as solution centre, and does not offer save options for different formats.  The HP tools are just rubbish. I will trust the comment that extended scan is not much use, so I will not even bother trying to download it after a couple of efforts produced no response. I have given up at 1530 GMT so HP have used up 4.5 hours of my time for no result other than that when my partner tries to use her HP printer I can provide more effective support than HP
