HP Recommended

I just bought an OfficeJet Pro 8710 and am having the exact same issue. It's driving me nuts and Tech Support has been useless on this.

What frustrates me is that my last 3 or 4 printers have all been HPs and I've not had any problem printing envelopes with .25" margins. That's a standard margin size for business envelopes that are being printed with business branding/specific placement on them.

Here's the problem:

One of the advertised features of this model (and one of the reasons I bought it) is "borderless printing." However, apparently, that only applies to certain kinds of documents (e.g., photos) and not envelopes.

I have an envelope with .25" margins I've been printing for years on all 3 or 4 models of HP printer with no problem whatsoever. My last HP printer was an Officejet 4620 All-In-One. On May 18 or so, the black stopped printing out of the blue and everyone I asked advised me to just get a new printer; it wasn't worth the time trying to figure out what was wrong or the money in fixing it. So that's when I bought this 8710 model on May 22.

However, I went last night to print an envelope on it for the first time and it was cutting off the left and right side of logo and return address branding. Called Tech Support and after spending an hour+ on the phone with them, they basically threw up their hands and said "I don't know. It's Word. It's Windows 10." No, it is NOT. This envelope printed just fine until I got a new printer. It is the printer that is not allowing for .25" margins. The only way we got it to stop cutting things off was if we changed the left margin to .65" which is a ridiculously huge, stupid amount of empty space on a business envelope.

They need to fix this. It's absolutely ridiculous that this printer won't print envelopes with standard 0.25" margins. Now, after wasting two weeks with this printer, I have to go to the time and trouble of returning it and searching for another one all over again. Really fed up and frustrated with this issue!
