How is it acceptable for a priming function to use so much ink as I went through each cycle of replacing the next cartridge?

If this is an HP process that all cartridges need to replaced at the same time, then they shoudl prompt to replace all at once, vs. wasting my time doing each one individually.

I would think your theory of the priming cycle using ink, should lower all cartridges simultaneously.  However, it doesn't lower the level of all cartridges simultaneously when I replace the next cartridge;  it just wipes out the next cartridge in the cycle.
