Product: Laserjet MFP M577
Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I'm struggling with the Restrict Color options.  Basically I can't seem to enter a Mac OS app like Preview or Pages.  My Color Usage Job Log does not show the name of the Application used to print in color.  I want to actually keep it simple and I'm happy to just put a restriction on photocopying in color from the Main Unit.  I can control color within the Printing Settings in Mac OS.  Therefore, how can I setup a password at the machine level to print in color but to still allow computers that are not logged into the machine to send color documents to the printer.  Thank you in advance for your help.
