I'm trying to get a Samsub SCX-4100 to scan to PC.
I have installed the printer and scanner drivers that I can find, and installed the SmartThru4 utility.
If I try to scan using the SmartThru4 utility, I get "Cannot open device: Scanner driver type 103"
I see that this is a common problem with this machine, but I really don't know what else to try other than perhaps reflash the printer's firmware.
Checking out the machine in Linux, lsusb -v shows that the machine's USB interface only has a printer endpoint: no scanner endpoint which means either the machine is messed up or the scanning is somehow performed through the printer end point, which would be weird.
Any advice?
