I set this printer up for a neighbour some time ago but it has been plagued with problems ever since.  They had an old Windows 7 machine which I ended up using the USB connection for reliability as network printing was very hit and miss.

They've now moved to a ChromeOS system and I attempted to enable Google Cloud Print for printing via the network.  This all went to plan and I successfully registered the printer for Google Cloud Print and the status showed online and I was able to print documents successfully.  However about 30mins later when I tried to print another document the printer showed as offline.  I tried pressing the power button once as it had a blue light round, which I think indicates it's in sleep mode, and the green LED lit but the unit did not show as online.  I power cycled the printer and eventually the printer showed as back online but then connection was lost some time later.  It's simply not maintaining the network connection reliably and seems to go offline regularly.

I've checked the configuration through the SyncThru web interface and all seems as it should.  I've also set a static IP address for the printer and ensured the firmware is up to date.

Anyone experienced these problems and have any suggestions for a fix before I replace the printer?
