The firmware updater tends to brick the samsung c460fw printer - here is a solution that worked for me:
If your printer is stuck in "F/W Upgrade Mode Upgrade Final FW" you can force it to accept the new firmware by doing the following, I did this with it connected by USB FYI. I am assuming that you have already downloaded and run the upgrade patch. If not, do that first since it extracts the files that we need to use.
When you run the Samsung Firmware update utility (which the patch will run when you click on it) it will show a path where it is getting the hd file (called Violet... blah.hd or similar)
You cannot edit this path in the GUI, but by tinkering with the ini file we can force it to look elsewhere.
1. So go into the folder shown in the path (usually c:\users\yourusername\appdata\local\temp)
2. Find the fwdown.ini file and open it in notepad (it should have been created when you ran the patch executable)
3. Change the FWFilePath variable to the name of the new hd file (in my case I set it as FWFilePath=C460FW_V3.00.02.21.hd)
4. Change the CHECK_VER variable to the version that you want to install. (In my case: CHECK_VER=V3.00.02.21)
5. Find FWUpgrader.exe and run it (again this was created in the temp folder by the upgrade patch)
In my case this allowed me to upgrade the firmware and avoid chucking my printer out. Good luck!
