Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Summary: Scan To Network Folder delays connecting and scanning to network but it does eventually connect.

Scan to Network Folder used to work well. Network, computer and printer all see each other.  Can set up new folder on scanner over the network. Click "Test" and two or three minutes later it finally says "Finished."

Used to put a page in the document feeder, click scan, scan to network folder, then <folder> and scanning started immediately.  Now it takes two to three minutes to start with the interface circling and saying "connecting."

Using the HP Smart app on iOS, Android and Windows 10, Scan to Cloud with a page in the document feeder, scanning starts immediately over the network.

Two more things. First,  I operate under Windows 7-32 since have not had success networking with Windows 10 computers since the beginning of 2017.  The 7-32 computer started this delay around the same time but miraculously fixed itself around September.  The delay started again around November 30 and my system restore points must be corrupted.

Second, I have disabled firewalls, virus protections, changed routers, used old routers, new routers, tried wireless and ethernet connections.

I am familiar with the SMB-1, 2 and 3 issues between Win 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 but am hardly an expert.
