Envy Photo 7855
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I just purchased an HP Envy Photo 7855 and the "scan to email" function isn't working correctly.  Everything that is scanned using the "Scan to Email" function has a gray or dark background when it should be plain white.  If I copy the same source material using the copy function, it prints out correctly.  If I scan using the HP Easy Scan app it scans correctly with a nice, crisp background.  It's only when the "scan to email" function that seems to not be working.

I updated the printers firmware.  I've reset the printer by turning if off and unplugging it for more than 60 seconds.  And still no luck.  I need to be able to go to the printer and quickly scan documents using the ADF without having to open up an app on my laptop and execute the scanning that way.

I did a lot of Google searching and searching this forum and it seems like it is a pretty common complaint.  I had an OfficeJet 8620 and it scanned great and quickly.  This issue is a real disappointment.

Thanks for your help!
