SmartStream Designer 15.0.5
macOS 10.15 Catalina

For my work I often get sent print-ready PDFs that I need to impose for printing.

I've used SmartStream plugin for InDesign for years. It lets me import a PDF and sets up my indd file at the same dimensions of the source PDF, with each page of the PDF on its own indd document page.

There must have been a Creative Cloud update several months ago because I'm no longer able to use this plugin for that purpose. I can still impose a document fine, but I can't import a PDF like I often need to.

If I go to: Tools > New Document from PDF...

From there I select the PDF to import. However, once selected I get the following message:

To use the "java" command-line tool you need to install a JDK. Click "More info..." to visit the Java Developer Kit download website. (Buttons titled "More info..." and "OK" are at the bottom of the popup).

If I hit "OK" it either does nothing but freeze the InDesign, or it will pull up a one-page indd that is completely blank and not the correct size.
I tried downloading the JDK mentioned but nothing seems to make a difference. Am I doomed to use a lengthy workaround until there's an updated SmartStream??

Thanks!!
