Hi all - Trying not to bellyache about getting multiple HP printers and to date none have worked without regular tech support to access Surface Pro remotely and spend 1-2hrs troubleshooting...a few times per year.  Since warranty ran out, am on my own.

Finally got time to try the solution someone offered last year.  Cannot reply to that response for whatever HP reason so have to start a new thread.  Remember person's name ended in _G24 but cannot remember whole thing.  Do want to say THANK YOU for the detailed help and recipe-like instructions.  So, consider this an upvote, but I could not click on "Accept Solution" just yet.  I went through all those and have an advanced IT background, so did not have any problems following the perfect instructions.

Things went well until I got to the last step of reinstalling the printer drivers.  A link was provided.  I went to the link.  A lot of options on the page, and I went with #1 which was to install the "HP Smart" software.  Well...no luck.  I tried several times uninstalling/installing and it either got stuck at various places or else it could not find the printer (printer says WiFi is on, and I can print a Wireless Network Test Report that shows everything is fine).

So then I tried Option #2 which was a package that simply installs all the drivers and printer software.  That went fine until one step it claims there are two routers and the printer and the PC are on separate routers.  The problem with this is that there is only one router.

In fairness, the printer claims the same thing on the Wireless Network Test Report: "More than one access point/wireless router has been found that matches your wireless network's name (SSID)."

So, I tried rebooting the router but note I have had zero problems with it regarding my PC or my smart tv's.  Everybody is happy with it except HP.  Rebooting it did not help.  I still get the same problem, and there is only one router with that SSID.  (I do have another router that is used by my weather station...totally different SSID.)  It (largely based on my experience with HP hardware and software to date) is 99 44/100% probably the HP stuff that has a problem.

Any suggestions how to get around this?

Thanks,

Richard Warner

Hello - have had this product I guess a year anyway warranty just expired.  Have used tech support a half dozen times as periodically it "disappears" and I can no longer wireless print from it.

This time and the last time, I remained able to print but lost ability to scan.  Windows 10 just did an update that caused problem with Playstore for a few days.  Wondering if it screwed up printer?  Or maybe scanner driver has disappeared again...?

At any rate, after rebooting g everything and restarting Photoshop, when I try to import from scanner, still get msg "no scanner found".

Any help appreciated on problem solving scanner.

Thanks in advance,

Richard
