When connected to the telephone line and the phone line becomes active, inbound or outbound, the printer wakes up. I assume it does this to be ready to receive a fax. On the surface this sounds OK. However, it fully wakes up for something that may not exist.

The printer wakes so quickly, when asked to do so, that if a fax was coming in, by the time is was fully received, the printer could be warm and ready to print. I would like to recommend that the printer only activate what is necessary to listen to the phone line and start receiving a fax, if one's coming in, and not fully warm the printer until it knows it's receiving a fax. Also, if possible, I would like it to go one step further and, if a USB flash drive is installed, allow the flash drive to be used to store the faxes until a user asks for them. The front screen could be active with a message that there's a fax waiting to be printed in order to alert the user. Also, possibly have the printer communicate with a predetermined computer(s) to send a pop-up message or email to a specified user(s) to alert that there's a fax waiting.
