HP Recommended
Product: HP Envy 5544
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Simple if naive question.

When editing a scan on HP Envy 5544 I am offered a "Keep Resolution" option on screen.

It seems to make no difference to the resolution of the image whether I use it or not.

 

What is using it meant to achieve?

I have raised this question before but made no progress.
