macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I have suddenly become unable to save a scan from my 9010 series printer scanner. 

having looked at the forum I found the context of enabling save to computer via the hp utility app, i have installed this however I cant add my printer to it via add device or set up new device - the former finds no device the latter has my printer as a device name but when selecting and "continuing" it says this device is  not supported?

 

so i seem to have no way to turn on the save to computer tick box, as i cant open the printer in the utility app.

 

ive been able to scan and save to computer since the 1st day i had the printer, im guessing a MAc update has caused this
