We had a designjet z6100 printer given to us a few years back worked great had a lot of fun printing just for fun, wife is old school and digital printer, I have trouble with most digital stuff for dummies. We had to put it in storage for 6 months and then moved it to a new location. Took covers off to look for damage because found rodent droppings near carriage. Found wires chewed through for the front cover switch, maintenance door swutch and carriage belt was chewed up. Cant find any other damage to ink tubes, air hoses etc. . The print scanner module on the left side of carriage had been broken loose from carriage, i assume while moving. Was able to superglue tabs back on and reattch it. Cleaned it, repaired wires, replaced belt and started up. Keep getting the 24:10 error. I have downloaded a sevice/operator manual I used for replacing belt & repairing wiring. I am a mechanical maintenance tech and I'm comfortable troubleshooting industrial electricity, digital VOM etc. but not an electronics tech. When we try to enter diagnostic mode to troubleshoot the error we get everything else to check out but hangs up on the 24:10 error immediately when we try to check the air system. I have used the VOM several times looking for voltage to each of the air pumps on start up and never see any voltage going to either one. I think for some reason they are not being energized. I have traced the wires to the board and even swapped the two air pump leads to see if it makes a difference. Not. i've laso clamped off the air lines at different places thinking maybe tiny air leak I can't see, no difference. Have never seen any ink in air tubes. Wondering if I'm looking in the right direction or not. This is strictly a for fun thing and is certainly not critical but I'm hard headed and really enjoy being able to print lg format for fun. anybody want to share their thoughts?
