HP M5035x MFP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I posted this two years ago.  Since then, no one has bothered to reply.  Please read and please help.  Please also read carefully to ensure you understand the problem and respond to it and don't inadvertently give an unresponsive answer.

I acquired an HP M5035xMFP ("5035") second-hand that was working with no problems for about a year, specifically with its send-to-folder function.  I set it up after never having any experience with it or any HP send-to-folder MFP before.  All of a sudden, the send-to-folder and send-to-email stopped properly performing.  I amusing firmware of HP's latest version 48.430.1.  Specifically, I want to focus only on the send-to-folder function in this post to narrowly tailor both my content and potential replies.

The problem is that the 5035 appears to randomly pass through good scans about 60% of the time and fails to pass through good scans 40% of the time.  Sometimes the scans are 0KB, and I know there is no valid file.  Other times, file sizes are larger and look appropriate, perhaps even 700KB, yet the .pdf will not open.  In either case, when trying to open the .pdf, a message appears that says, "Something’s keeping this PDF from opening."  I am alternating using Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional and whatever generic .pdf viewer came with my 2-year old HP Envy x360 laptop; neither software nor the viewer is the problem and I have eliminated that theory.  One thing is for certain:  I can scan only one or a maximum of two pages, and very seldom more than that, or else the file will be unable to open -- so I keep scans to a maximum of two pages and low resolution.  It seems after hundreds of tests that a lower scanning resolution of 100 dpi or less brings more certainty that the file will open -- but keep in mind that there is only a 60% probability that it will as already stated in this paragraph.  This is very laborious and frustrating in a business-setting to try to assemble large 50-page scans from 25 two-page scans.  This insanity must soon stop!

In the digital sending log in the JetDirect utility, if I choose any of the scan failures, the following message appears when selecting "details:"

"(An error has occurred that will require administrator assistance. Please use the troubleshooting feature.)
error code: 6005 error component: 0110"

When I press "troubleshoot" as instructed above, another window pops up (in JetDirect) that says, "An error has occurred that will require administrator assistance. Please use the troubleshooting fea..."

I would really like to use the 5035 as my main scanner, so the scan-to-file feature is imperative to have.  As an aside, although the print quality is horrible, the scanner has good qualities of being large format and much faster than average, albeit that the 5035 is 11 years old.  Please provide your intellect and guidance to solve this nasty problem.  Thank you.
