HP Recommended
designjet 110plus
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

downloaded win 7 64bit drivers for designjet 110 plus .  using chrome browser with win 7. i installed the drivers.

when i tried to use the printer utility to check ink levels i got a blinking red warning message from smartshield-stop-this software you are using may harm your computer.

i stopped and deleted the printer utility.

what do i do now? should i uninstall all the drivers/software and re-install with explorer? the printer is not on a network.

it was plugged directly into this computer with a usb cable. (alienware x-17 win 7 64bit)

the designjet 110plus is still in devices and printers.   I think the printer originally ran on win xp.

should i install xp to use the printer? on a seperate partition?

I don't have an installation disc. not sure what to do next. i'd like to print large format art projects on the 110plus.

one more thing...when i right-click on the printer icon in devices and printers and select properties...it  doesn't show the manufacturer's name...HP. But if i click on the icon for my Photosmart Premium it shows the HP name.

sumthin' just ain't riiight ...no brag, just facts!

thanks;

patrick
