I have an HP LJ300-400 color MFP M375-M475 PCL 6 that stopped receiving wireless print jobs - when I rebooted it the error 79 came up. I have shut down and restarted several times with no luck. I am able to print fine when connected by network cable or USB but as soon as I even turn the wifi on through the printer menu it instantly goes to error 79 and will continuously loop to rebooting itself with the error until I shut the house wifi off - reboot and then turn the wifi to off on the printer. It had an older firmware on it and I updated to 20150126 but this did not change anything. Thanks for any help you can offer.
UPDATE: HP customer service told me it was a formatter board problem so I bought a new formatter and wireless card and changed them out - guess what - no change. still throws the error 79 code. For some reason I then connected the printer through a hotspot on my phone and with my laptop connected to it also - I was able to print wirelessly no problem. This points to my house modem which is the latest xfinity XB7. I am seeing that this is an issue with older HP printers because the modem automatically switches between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and this causes the printer to throw the error code. If anyone has dealt with this or can offer a suggestion on a solution I would appreciate any input.
