Printer has been working fine for several years. Today, I sent a 6 page pdf to the printer from Win 10 pc. It printed 2 pages and a blank page. Since double sided was on this was correct page count. tried again and the first document was stuck in the printer queue. Canceled print, the doc stayed there "deleting" Used services to stop the spooler and restart. Doc still there, but hitting cancel all documents made it go away. Power cycled everything. Printer seemed to boot up okay, but as soon as you addressed the touchscreen it would freeze. No amount of power cycling, unplugging and waiting made any difference. Same behavior. Power up, seems fine, freeze on any attempted usage. Since the first attempt to do anything would freeze the display, you couldn't select "restore to factory settings". Going to settings would be the activity that would then freeze the printer. Had one time been told the key sequence on power up to enter the tech diagnostics. Selected "partial reset" and pressed enter. The system display read "resetting printer" then froze. After an hour, I pulled the cord. Really couldn't think of anything else, despite fearing the worst. Now on power up it goes through some of the normal noises then says that the printhead is either missing, not detected or incorrectly installed. Opened the side up, removed the ink overflow tray and visually inspected the printhead. Can't tell much by looking. Now none of the ways into the tech diagnostics are having any effect. Powers up, a few normal noises, then the error message. I searched the error message and it does not come up on hp search under troubleshooting. It's in the title bar, but again it is error number 0xc6fd0503. Help! I have 7 full ink cartridges plus a new set in the printer. That costs more than the 477dw.
