What adjustment will allow the image from my HP G62 laptop to display fully on HP 2011x used as a projector?

 

HPG62 only offers "duplicate" image and "extend" image. With duplicate a black band of empty screen shows on the left of the 2011x and the right side of the display from the HPG62 does not appear.

 

With extend, the wisdescreen is full but the desktop controls from the HPG62 do not appear. Thanks for your help
