HP Desk Jet All in One offline and printer cannot be located. Printer turning off by itself. Shift Control P is no longer working. I updated printer, turn off Wi Fi and turn off printer but it no longer works. I moved the printer closer to the router but will not print.

Hi @Yvette111

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the printer is showing offline, turning off by itself, and cannot be located even after moving it closer to the router and updating. Let’s go through steps to bring it back online:

Step 1 – Power Reset

  1. With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then reconnect it to the printer.
  5. Press the Power button to turn the printer back on.

Step 2 – Check Wireless Connection

  1. Ensure the wireless light on the printer control panel is steady blue.
  2. If it is off or blinking, press and hold the Wireless button for 3 seconds until the light starts blinking.
  3. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router to reconnect.
  4. Wait until the wireless light turns solid blue.

Step 3 – Verify in HP App

  1. Open the HP App on your computer or mobile device.
  2. Select your printer from the home screen.
  3. If the printer shows offline, remove the printer from the app.
  4. Add the printer again by selecting Add Printer and following the on‑screen instructions.

Step 4 – Update Firmware

  1. In the HP App, go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings.
  2. Select Tools > Printer Updates.
  3. Install any available updates.

Step 5 – Test Print

  1. From the HP App, select Print Documents or Photos.
  2. Send a test page to confirm the printer is online.

For detailed guidance, you can refer to HP’s official support page:
HP printer is offline or unavailable | HP® Support

This sequence ensures the printer is reset, reconnected to Wi‑Fi, recognized in the HP App, and updated with the latest firmware.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
