Hi AnnieLR
Applying a Customized Background to the HP 960 4K Streaming Webcam
The HP 960 4K Streaming Webcam does not seem to have a built-in function for applying a customized background directly through its controls or settings. To apply a customized background such as a .jpg upload, you will typically need to use third-party video conferencing software or streaming applications that offer virtual background features.
Here's a general guide on how to do this using popular software:
Using Zoom
- Open Zoom and go to your account settings.
- In the settings menu, find the "Virtual Background" section.
- Click the "+" sign to add a new image and select your .jpg file.
- Once uploaded, you can choose this image to be your background during Zoom meetings.
Using Microsoft Teams
- Open Teams and go to the meetings screen.
- Click on the three dots (...) during a meeting to access more options.
- Select "Show background effects".
- Click "Add new" and then upload your desired .jpg file.
- Select the uploaded image to use it as your background.
Using OBS Studio (for streaming purposes)
- Open OBS Studio and add your webcam as a source.
- Add a new source for the image by clicking on "+" under 'Sources'.
- Choose "Image" and then upload your .jpg file.
- Position and resize the image as a background layer behind your webcam feed.
Using Google Meet
- Click on the three dots (...) in the bottom-right corner during a meeting.
- Select "Change background".
- Click "Upload background" and upload your .jpg file.
- Your chosen image will now be set as the background.
If you encounter continual difficulties or want more advanced features, you may consider using Poly Lens software, which is compatible with the HP 960 4K Streaming Webcam. You can download it from Poly Lens.
Steps to Generally Apply a Custom Background:
- Download and Install the Software: Get either the HP Presence/Poly Lens software (recommended first) or a third-party virtual camera app.
- Launch the Software: Open the application.
- Select Your HP 960 Webcam: In the software's settings, ensure your HP 960 4K Streaming Webcam is selected as the input source.
- Find Background Settings: Look for a section related to "Background," "Virtual Backgrounds," "Chroma Key," or "Effects."
- Upload Your Image: There should be an option to "Add new," "Upload," or select a custom image. Browse to your .jpg file and select it.
- Apply/Activate: Confirm the setting.
- Select Virtual Camera in Your Streaming/Meeting App: Open your streaming software (OBS, XSplit, Twitch Studio) or video conferencing app (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, etc.). Go to its video settings and choose the virtual camera provided by the background software (e.g., "HP Presence Camera," "Poly Lens Camera," "ManyCam Virtual Webcam," "OBS Virtual Camera," etc.) as your primary camera.
I hope the above is helpful
