I had the problem of my dv5237cl notebook external headset microphone not working in Windows 8 and the driver sp33443 worked for me.  Thanks for starting and answering this useful thread.

I am not sure how to send you the link. Just look at page 2 second post. Click on the link and click the download button. As I indicated, it works in Windows 8. It says Windows XP but should work in Windows 7. Have you tried it?

 

I tried the link again and for some reason it sent me somwhere else.  Tried it once more and it worked.

i COULDN'T FIND A DRIVER THAT WORKS SO I INSTALLED A Soundblaster external card and using headphones or external speakers. If the shoe fits

error code: 80072F8F means that you need to change the system time. It's too far away from what the Microsoft servers are saying and won't sync up.
