how to turn on wireless capability for hp pavilion dv6- 1207 nr entertainment notebook pc?

Check out this HP video.

 

The led near #9 (wireless) will be amber if it is off and blue (or white) if turned on. Press it to turn on the wireless.

I press the wireless button and the HP connection manager says:     WI-FI: Disabled.

 

 

I press the wireless button again and and the HP connection manager says:   WI-FI: Off.

 

The wireless button remains amber all the time.   Is there a nuance there that I am not understanding?

 

Ideas?

STOP STOP STOP .... mad angry clicking brought up the HP Connection Manager, and I saw the thing that looked like a turn on/off option. It worked. I am a fool. And it only took 3 hours to figure it out. (man, I love my Mac).

i had this problem for a few weeks and RESOLVED!!!! just download HP Connection Manager under the Software-Solution then installed it and it allowed me to turn on wireless via the software , has an off and on button and fix!!! i hope it helpful as it was for me !!
