Laptop crashed when I inserted a DVD into it. Since then, when I turn it on, it asks for my language and then proceeds to give me a choice of two options: Troubleshoot or Turn off your PC.
Once in Troubleshoot I can chose: Recovery Manager (HP backup and recvoery or contanct support) or Advance options.
The recovery manager hasn't helped - I have tried backing up my documents and pictures but it won't let me do anything.
The advanced options are:
System Restores (which I was trying to avoid until I had backed up my pictures so I don't lose anything)
System Image Recovery (which when clicked says 'Windows cannot find a system image on this computer...'
Start up Repair (which comes up with the error message 'start up repair couldn't repair your PC')
Command Promt
UEFI Firmware Settings
Go back to previous version (which states 'we ran into a problem and won't be able to take you back yo yhe preious version of windows).
I would really like to be able to keep all the personal content from my laptop (that being over 2000 photos and important school work). None of the options the PC's offering me work - and when I looked online, people having a similar issue had different options when they cliked on troubelshoot.
Is there a way to fix my laptop, or am I in need of a new one, as well as losing all the content?
Just to include : My HP warentee ran out the day before this happened.
