Hi There,
I'm seeking help to reset the BIOS Password of a HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G3 notebook.
What is the procedure I need to follow? I've spend time searching HP forums & the Internet, and it appears I need to obtain a hardware specific smc.bin file to use on a bootable USB stick - I am capable of performing the reset procedure, I simply need the smc.bin to be generated.
My overall requirement is to enable the VT-x setting. Unfortuately the BIOS Password is enabled / active, so I can't access the system settings. (The notebook appears to have been reloaded with a clear installation of Windows, but someone forgot to reset the BIOS.)
The HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G3 was purchased an ex HP dealer demo unit from (reputable auction house) Gray's Online. I can purchase receipts to prove legal transaction.
Please instruct me how I provide detailed notebook hardware information (i.e. S/N, UUID, etc.) for the smc.bin file to be generated?
Thanks in advance !!!
~2 years ago. After receiving shipment of the notebook to a remote town in NSW, I discovered the BIOS Password was enabled
