Product: pavilion intel core i5
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

ive had this laptop (HP Pavilion Intel core I5 8th Gen) laptop since Jan 2018. There is hardly anything on it. I have anti virus software installed and it has some serious performance issues.

When i load the laptop up everything appeares on the laptop fine. but the internet (chrome) and any folders i open (downloads, pictures etc) takes ages! i'm waiting anywhere from 15-20 minutes for the internet to load fully without freezing or lagging. When i load chrome there is a blank white screen (as if its loading) then all of a sudden the whole screen goes black, it repeats this a few times then eventually google loads. but as soon as i start typing it freezes after 3 letters. and repeats the black screen situation again!

 

once it has had its moment it works fine. every thing loads quickly and it runs smoothly but its jsut the start and its driving me insane. 

 

any ideas on what i can do??
