Hi guys! I am having trouble with installing HP LaserJet P1005 on Windows 8.1 (32-bit) (Croatian)
When I want to install the driver from the HP website, this happens:
I also have the CD for the LaserJet P1005, and I tried to install the drivers from it. The installation finishes and Windows can recognize the printer but the problem is that it cannot print (the test page - print job gets stuck in the print queue). I also tried to fix this problem by installing Windows 7 drivers, and the printer printed out the test page properly but after the next reboot, the print queue problem appeared again.
I tried to fix this problem by reinstalling Windows, running HP help tools, removing the device from "Devices and Printers", deleting the printer and its driver in Print Management, cleaning the registry with CCleaner. I also tried to install the driver in Clean Boot mode but nothing worked. Sometimes while deleting the printer from Devices and Printers and Print Management, the PC slows down.
The printer worked normally while my PC was running Windows XP and Windows 7. When I upgraded to Windows 8.1, all drivers installed properly except the HP LaserJet one.
