Good afternoon community, this is my first topic created here.
Yesterday I bought the HP Pavilion 690-0002np which has included a keyboard and a mouse.
The following image shows you the keyboard (which I do not know the name of the product).
HP 690-0002np keyboard
As my last laptop (bought 5 years ago), I am having the problem of the Fn (action / function) button. By other words: when I want to rename a folder or a file, I need to press Fn+F2 instead of only F2. Like I did on my last laptop, I tried go to the BIOS and enable or disable the Action / Function / Fn option.
For my suprise, on the desktop I bought there is no option on the BIOS like one of those. First I searched the web and found a possible solution here but it did not solved anything.
I updated my Windows 10 to the last version (Version 10.0.17763 Compilation 17763) and when updating by Windows Update, the system also updated the BIOS. Using HP Support Assistant, I also updated again the BIOS.
Before any update and after all updates, the option to enable / disable the Fn button was not available on the BIOS.
Using my keyboard, I tried the following combinations to change somehting:
- Fn + ESC (pressed)
- Fn + ESC (holded 5 sec)
- Fn + CTRL + Left SHIFT (pressed)
- Fn + CTRL + Left SHIFT (holded 5 sec)
- Fn + Lock Key (pressed) - it only locked the screen
- Fn + Lock Key (holded 5 sec) - it only locked the screen
Doing the summary of the questions to be asked:
- Anyone can help me how to lock/unlock the Fn button?
- Anyone can suggest a Windows 10 (Win32 or UWP) application to do the map/switch of the buttons while using the keyboard? HP solution or any program.
Hope for an answer.
See you soon community.
