Product: HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cs0119TX
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We purchased a HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cs0119TX two weeks ago and cannot get the combined headphone/microphone jack to work as we were led to expect it would. Can someone explain how to use the port as a line in and disable the internal microphone which seems has no way of being muted whilst the line in is being used.

 

We want to record existing music into Acid Pro 8 as a new track and then add further tracks. We have been doing this for ages with another PC which has separate ports for headphone and microphone/line in.
