HP Pavilion Power
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On Wednesday, when I tried to use my laptop, it appears like it had received and installed a Windows update.

I had previously disabled the password requirement on startup, so, I was surprised when it prompted me for a password.

It WILL NOT accept my password. Sure, it's possible that I forgot what my password was, but I am 99% sure I am using the correct password.

I have reset my Microsoft password  and it will not accept that new password.

HP seems to think that the path to "password recovery" is to reset to factory settings.

Can anyone offer any advice as to why my laptop wants a password after I've disabled it - or - why it won't accept my password anyways?
