i'm trying to hook up 2nd extended display to my HP Pavilion dv7. The first one works fine over VGA cable. For the second one I'm trying to use DVI output from the monitor and HDMI input to the laptop (as my laptop has only one VGA input/famale connector).
However, once i connect 2nd monitor (via DVI-2-HDMI) and open the windows utility to define extended monitors, 3rd monitor appears grayed out and can't be "Identify"-ed. If i set "Extend desktop to this display" for this monitor, it becomes active but it DISCONNECTS the 1st exdended display. So, no matter what I do, looks like I can use only 1 of these extended displays. Is there any way I can hook them BOTH up so that I have total of 3 displays (laptop + 2 extended ones)?
FYI...i also have VGA-2-USA converter, but when I use this option, extended monitor does not even appear in Extended monitor utility of windows 😞
PS. I do not need extended monitors to play games or even to run videos - just work in browsers and MS Office applications.
