Last week, my hard drive crashed. Luckily I had a mirrored drive, so I was able to retrieve all my data. I had to reinstall the software for the printer, after deleting every instance of it on the computer. Even after that, and several attempts to repeat it, the scanning is still failing. The HP Print and Scan Doctor keeps saying it cannot communicate with the scanner. I connect the scanner thru a USB, in order to avoid these kind of problems. But, again and again, whenever I change the computer or a hard drive, this same problem creeps up, and gives me a headache of monument proportions ( and, I never get headaches). I am seriously contemplating to change my brand of printers, since this is happening repeatedly. If you can get me going, then I might not get into that extra expense. I am in the process of getting SSD drives to replace my current hard drives, so I know I am going to face the same problem again. I wish HP made these printers user-friendly. My email is [edited]
