I'm sure this will be considered one of those novice questions-and I am sure the answer is simple but here goes.
I just bought an HP 22-b013w, my last computer/laptop was the HP 2000 so perhaps that explains how ancient I am.
I'd like to upgrade to 8GB and a youtube video shows how simple that process really is, but my question is can I buy a singular 8GB of memory or do I have to buy 2x4gb? Also, I have done searches for ram memory that exactly matches the following for my computer DDR3 PC3-12800 SODIMM (204-Pin,1600mhz), Non ECC Unbuffered 1.35V/1.5V CL11 . Is there an reason why ram may not work on my HP? Thank you for all your assistance
The HP info page lists the following
- Dual channel memory architecture
- Two DDR3L SODIMM (204-pin) sockets
- Supports up to PC3L-12800 (DDR3L-1600)
- Supports 4 GB and 8 GB DDR3L SODIMMs
- Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
