Yesterday I started getting an intermittent display issue where it fills completely with barcode like vertical lines. This occurs primarily when the display is moved forward and back. If I move it carefully I can find a spot where the display works properly. Move it again and the bars come back. (Its working properly now allowing me to post this) I removed the display bezel and see at the bottom of the display the cable from the motherboard . There is black plastic ground protection covering the display circuitry almost the entire bottom of the display.
If I gently touch the ground protection plastic the vertical bars appear...release and get normal display.... sometimes.
It seems to me that the display itself is OK as evidenced by the fact I can still get it to work properly.
I believe the lcd display cable is bad or its connection has loosened.
The issue seems to be happening much more frequently now and its taking longer to get a good display. I haven't connected another monitor yet but may have to if this gets worse.
Before trying to tackle the issue I thought I'd see if anyone out there has experienced this and if one of you experts can make sure I'm focused on the correct issue.
Thanks
