Recently, my Spectre has started randomly getting the Blue Screen of Death with the following information - Stop Code: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, what failed: atikmdag.sys. The FIRST time this happened, my computer booted back up with a message that said "The CMOS checksum is invalid. The CMOS will be reset to the default configuration and will be rebooted. Please check your BIOS Setup options to see if they change." It rebooted fine and I had no issues with it until a couple days later when I was doing homework, I had taken a break to get on my phone and when I looked up it suddenly BSOD with the same message, but did not say anything about the CMOS checksum. Today in class, my computer BSOD again. I'm not sure what is causing this to happen, and luckily my computer keeps coming back on and booting into Windows, but I would like to know what is causing this issue. I was thinking it had something to do with my computer being on Windows 1903 (which is technically supported for my computer according to the HP website) or something with my AMD driver (which HP also signs and releases on a different schedule than AMD themselves).
I'm really not sure what's causing this issue, and I can't recreate the issue myself, but I really don't want this to become a frequent problem. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!
Sincerely,
NoSafeBrain2
