As several people have indicated in previous threads, there is a sound issue that comes with the Realtek (R) Audio driver, which causes sound to be idle when playing a video, for 1-2 full seconds, after a brief period of inactivity (10 seconds or more).
I have tried all the troubleshooting steps I could find online, from updating drivers, to deleting them and downloading the latest ones on HP's website. I have tried tweaking settings of the headphones, unticking exclusive control from apps etc... nothing changes, there is still a delay.
This issue didn't appear with time, it was there from the first time I used the laptop, and the only way I could ever get rid of it was to install a windows driver, but then other issues appear (sound crackling).
I find it baffling that HP didn't come up with drivers to fix that, or some sort of app or setting to make sure the sound is on from the moment you hit play, and not a couple seconds after.
This is a bit of a bottle thrown into the sea to see if anyone could come up with a solution.
