Hoping someone can solve the PSU issue I’ve got. From what I’ve seen online you’ll be helping a lot of other people as well.
I’ve bought a 795-0030QD and had assumed I’d get my ATX 550w PSU out of my 500-209a and install it in place of the 310w unit while also putting in my MSI GTX1060 6GB 8-pin (it fits). I’ve read the threads (and complaints) and obviously that isn’t going to happen. If I want a 500w unit I need to order part L05757-800. What I’m seeing though is a lot of parts listed as being interchangeable with this part (with big price differences) and in some images for L05757-800 one of other parts is shown. They are (with some of the descriptions given):
901759-003 – Usually the part shown if there’s an image for most of the below part #s
500w EFF Listed by local HP spares supplier as past end-of-life but was available in the 800 series G4 workstations
901759-013
913290-001
GNRC, 500w 90% EFF. Used in the Elitedesk 800 G3 Towers. Cheapest of those listed here and given the below are from G4 and G5 series that makes sense
932461-850
GNRC ENT17 500w EPA90 (Gold). Used in the Elitedesk 800 & 880 G4 and Z1 G5 workstations
DPS-500AB-32-A Apparently the Model # Vs Part #. Sometimes listed alongside the other numbers here. There’s a thread on these forums with a 795-30QD that came with this PSU so assuming it would fit mine?
L32168-001
SPS-PSU 500w ENT17 90% EFF. Also used in the Elitedesk 800 & 880 G4 workstations – cheaper than the 932461-850 unit above but more expensive than the 913290-001
So I’m assuming there have been little updates here and there and there may be some efficiency gains but is it essentially the same fitment aside from that? They’re all cheaper than the L05757-800 from the local supplier, in some instances half the price and availability is better. It’s not a whole lot compared to the PC but considering I’m going to get some RAM and SSD as well everything helps.
If someone has an idea about the parts that would be great. If I’ve missed a detail, apologies and please let me know. Based in Australia here.
Ben.
