I have HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13 laptop with Windows 10, version 1909 installed.
Problem is that there is no sound coming from speakers when Windows boots.
BIOS is on latest version F.40.
What I tried:
- run laptop from linux live ubuntu and sound from speakers works OK
- installed HP PC Hardware Diagnostics 7.7.0.0 tool, where sound is working OK
- reinstalled Windows 10 1903, then ran update and installed all updates - no sound but driver installed
- reinstalled Windows 10 2004, then ran update and installed all updates - no sound but driver installed
- installed HP Support Assistant, ran Audio diagnostic troubleshooter which was a dead end, just reinstalled drivers and restarted PC, still no sound
- installed all drivers from HP page (some of drivers works only on win 10 versions before 2004!)
- installed drivers from DRPsu, still no sound
- installed latest audio package driver from Realtek webpage, still no sound
- other devices via Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack works OK
- also reset BIOS to factory defaults, still no sound
- set sound quality from 24-bit to 16-bit and other various settings but to no avail
As you can see, the problem is in operating system/drivers, because sound component is working. What could be the problem? Can anyone help?
