Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new HP-Envy laptop that is having horrible problems with the microphone and speakers on Zoom and other video  calls. A few minutes into the call, the laptop starts 'screeching' and I get a warning that there is no microphone detected and a warning that there are no speakers detected.  The only was to stop the screeching is to restart the computer, which doesn't work when I' m hosting the meeting!
