Sometimes when typing there's an issue when typing the same letter more than once where it keeps doing the same letter until the letter is pressed again. e.g. I want to press 's' a few times, then when I stop pressing 's' it'll keep doing 's' even if I'm not pressing until I press 's' again*, even if I press another key. *(pressing the same direction to stop going in that direction is not the instinctive thing to do when playing a game)
The times I've gotten it to do this in a plain text editor, it when like this: I press 't' it shows 't' fine it, and it works like this fine for a while, then at some point, it only shows up every other time I press 't', up until some point where it switches to keep doing 't' until the key is pressed again.
It goes something like this:
starting from having pressed 't' a few times already.
input -> output
t -> t,
tt -> t, (extra t pressed, no output change)
ttt -> tt,
tttt -> tt, (extra t pressed, no output change)
ttttt -> ttt,
tttttt -> ttt, (extra t pressed, no output change)
ttttttt -> tttt,
...,
ttttttt -> ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt...ttttttttttt until another 't' is pressed. (the number of keys could be more or less if 't' is pressed again at a different time) (Note: didn't count the number of times before it switches to keep adding the key)
This happens in Windows and Linux, and in several different applications, and with different keys.
