Hello,
I have a HP 705 G3 MT originally shipped with a AMD A10-9700. I tried to upgrade the CPU to a Ryzen 7 Pro 1700X, what was one of the official purchase options from HP.
The computer has been updated to BIOS version 2.37 without any issue, but the computer doesn't boot with the Ryzen processor.
Actually, it powers on by itself when the power cable is plugged in, the fans starts spinning, the HDD powers on, etc, like it boots, but actually it doesn't. No output to the screen, it has a dedicated GPU. No POST error message, and I cannot power down the computer with the power button.
So, is there anything else, what has to be set to use the Ryzen CPU, or the CPU is just not supported, maybe it is DOA. (But the no POST, and automatic power on is really odd.) The computer has POST beeps and LED when started without CPU, or without CPU power.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Best Regards,
Gábor
