Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We bought my 11 year old son an HP Laptop for his school work. All was ok for the first year however there appears to be a problem with the left hand hinge. When closing the laptop the hinge started to separate the the top from the bottom causing the 2 plastic sides to snap apart. The only way to close the laptop is to grip it firmly, holding the two sides together near the hinge and slowly close it. Even then it still manages to snap apart. This has got gradually worse to a point that he can no longer close it in fear of snapping the casing.

 

The laptop is out of warranty however reading forums and doing a simple search it appears that this issue is very common with HP laptops and a potential design flaw.   I've tried engage HP however there seems to be no obvious way to get hold of someone to discuss what HP can do to make this situation good and replace or fix it. I'd be grateful if you could arrange contact. Thanks
