I still can't get this all-in-one Auto document feeder to load papers anymore. I believe that this is a mechanical error, or a sensor that has failed. I don't know how to order parts or go about fixing this. And all small service centers no longer exist in my area to repair personal printers.
I feel like HP is let me down on so many levels it's unbelievable. This is like a $700 paper weight now!
I'm still getting a clicking or grinding noise when the printer/scanner attempts to draw the paper in.
Here's my last attempt to explain it:
When you place a piece of paper into the ADF you usually get a light chime or ding that states the paper has been seen or received. That ding no longer occurs. When you try to start scanning your document the printer makes a paused grinding noise and then throws up an original misfeed error, and claims there's a paper jam. Which obviously there's not. I believe that the sensor or switch that registers the piece of paper being in the tray has failed? I cannot find any way to repair this. Somebody's got to have some kind of option or solution.
