1. Product Name and Number: HP EliteBook 840 G3 (L3C64AV)
2. Operating System installed: N/A
3. Error message (if any):
a) After removing RTC battery for 45+ minutes and re-plugging it back, I see
POST Error
The system time is invalid. This may be a result of loss in battery power. Set the correct time and date using your operating system. If this message persists, you may need to replace the onboard battery.
Factory Default Settings Loaded
Real-Time Clock Power Power Loss (005)
ENTER - Reboot the System
After hitting ENTER, I get the following error
b) BootDevice Not found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk.
Hard Disk - (3F0)
F2 System Diagnostics
4. Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred: The machine had a pre-formatted hdd with an enterprise O/S image, but with restricted privileges. Since this is a test machine and I do not connect this machine to company network, I took out the HDD from this machine (protected with bitlocker), formatted it and then installed another version of O/S. I am unable to get this new O/S to boot from the hdd. I am afraid that BIOS UEFI is secured and it is difficult to bypass those. If there is no resolution in this community, then I will have to give back the machine to IT department to re-image it.
Thank you for any help/ suggestions.
